Things that made me smile this week…..


The (very muddy) horses watching me cook through the window - rubbing their noses on the glass!
Making biscuits for cheese for when we had friends round for supper at the weekend
Baking cake  - always makes me smile!
Catkins in the hedge on one of my daily dog walks
Starting work on the house renovation and finding an old fire surround behind the fire place
Finding a wooden beam over a closed up doorway

      Thankfully we are not living there - so can at least come home to a warm house and shower! No doubt I will will be hearing more about the build here soon! Jilly

    Oh how exciting to find the fire surround while doing your house renovations.... what are you going to do... open fire? stove? Fantastic!!!

      It is all quite exciting - we also have some lovely beams in the roof that we may open up in the bedrooms. The fire, which will be in the snug, will probably be a wood burning stove and the beam from the blocked up door will be used somewhere else - as that wall is being removed! Busy times .….

    Oh yes... can't go wrong with a wood burning stove... we have one and wouldn't be with out it! Sounds like you are finding all sorts of old charming features in you home... a lot of work, but well worth it..
